My name is Karli and I am high school math teacher in Eastern North Carolina. I created heyyteachergirl to share what I am doing in my classroom, and hopefully inspire other teachers - new and old.

My teaching philosophy is all about making learning the material fun for my students. By the time they get to high school, math is either their favorite or least favorite subject. There is no in between. I have learned that the more I get them engaged and out of their seats, the more fun they have and the better they are at retaining the information.
