I am starting a new weekly post going through day by day with what I do in my math 2 class. If you haven't read Math 2: Week 1, here is the link for it.

In the second week of Math 2, we continued reviewing topics from Math 1, so here is what it looked like.

Monday: The topic of review today was simplifying radicals and laws of exponents. I broke up the notes into different sections today, to allow them to have more time to get up out of their seat and not sit for an hour straight of taking notes. We started out the class with taking notes on simplifying radicals. We got through this a little more in depth because it is something that I have noticed my students struggle with more from math 1 to math 2 since it isn't a large topic in math 1. After our notes of that they got split up into random groups and worked through 10 questions together on the board. Once every group had them all correct, we sat back down and went through the notes on laws of exponents. These we breeze through and they remember them with ease from math 1. So they got back up in their groups and practiced at the board.

Tuesday: The topic of review today is polynomial operations. We had short notes for today and then they had time to practice in DeltaMath with a mix of all the topics we have covered and reviewed for the last few days. Towards the last 15-20 minutes of class we went over their quiz from last Friday so they could see the mistakes they made prior to taking their test this week.

Wednesday: Today is test review day! I try to change up what I do for every test review day so that it isn't always the same. With this first test I just allowed them the class to work on their test review packet and extra credit in DeltaMath. This way they had plenty of time to ask whatever questions they had prior to the test tomorrow.

Thursday: TEST DAY! My students came in today and I made sure they didn't have any questions or last minute things they wanted to look at before the test. Once they were ready, they got started on the test!

Friday: Today we were supposed to start our Quadratics unit, my favorite, but I was out sick. So I left my students review material from the last week to work on and we will start Quadratics on Monday!!
